How can we help?

Answers to common questions, and a direct line to our team when you need one.

Waitlist and billing

What exactly am I paying for today?

Joining the waitlist costs $7.99. It reserves your access to the app on launch day, December 4, 2026. From launch day your subscription costs $7.99 per month and includes every feature: live flight explanations, the turbulence meter and route forecast, pre-flight reports, calm mode exercises and the AI assistant.

When will I be charged again?

Your first monthly charge happens on December 4, 2026, then every month on the same date until you cancel. We email a receipt every time you are charged.

How do I cancel?

Use the Manage subscription link on this page or in any of our emails, and choose Cancel. Cancelling stops future charges. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play after launch, cancel in your store account settings instead.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, if you cancel before launch day you can get a full refund of your waitlist payment. If launch is delayed by more than 60 days, you can cancel for a full refund of everything you paid. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland you also have a 14-day right of withdrawal. For anything else, message us and we will look at your case. Full details are in our Terms of Use.

I paid but did not get a confirmation email.

Check your spam or promotions folder for an email from Calmfly. If it is not there, send us a message with the email address you used at checkout and the approximate time of payment. Please do not pay again.

I was charged twice.

Message us with the email address you used and we will check right away. Duplicate charges are refunded in full, usually within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.

Can I change the email on my subscription?

Yes. Send us a message from your current email address telling us the new one. Your subscription and app account need to use the same email, so we update both.

Getting ready for launch

How will I get the app on launch day?

On December 4, 2026 we email you a download link for iOS or Android. Install the app and sign in with the same email address you used to join the waitlist. Your subscription is recognised automatically.

Which phones are supported?

Calmfly is being built for recent iPhone and Android phones that have motion sensors, which almost every smartphone has. We will publish the exact list of supported versions before launch and email you if your phone is affected.

What should I do before my flight?

Open the app while you still have internet, ideally the day before or at the gate. Add your flight so the pre-flight report and route forecast download to your phone. Allow motion access when asked, and make sure your phone is charged. After that, everything except the AI assistant works in airplane mode.

Using the app in flight

Am I allowed to use Calmfly on a plane?

Yes. Calmfly works in airplane mode, which is how most airlines ask you to use your phone in flight. Always follow the crew's instructions, including when they ask you to stow devices during takeoff and landing on some airlines.

Why doesn't the turbulence meter show exactly 1.00G when we are calm?

Phone sensors are very sensitive and slightly different from one model to another. Small readings like 1.02G or 0.98G are normal. For the steadiest readings, keep your phone on the tray table or in a pocket rather than in your hand.

The app showed the wrong flight phase.

Phase detection uses your phone's sensors and your flight data. It can be briefly unsure, for example during a long taxi or a holding pattern. It corrects itself as the flight continues. If it stays wrong, send us a message with your flight number and date so we can improve it.

Will it drain my battery?

Calmfly is designed to use as little power as possible. Sensors are sampled efficiently and the screen can stay off while it works. Bringing a charged phone or a power bank is still a good idea on longer flights.

Why does the AI assistant say I am offline?

The assistant needs internet to answer. If your flight has Wi-Fi, connect to it and the assistant will work. All other features keep working without a connection.

Account and privacy

How do I delete my account and data?

In the app, go to Settings, then Account, then Delete account. Your data is deleted within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as invoices. If you cannot access the app, email ata@pragmaticdevs.io from the address linked to your account. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription, so cancel that separately.

Is my sensor data uploaded?

No. Motion sensor data used for flight phases and the turbulence meter is processed on your phone. Our Privacy Policy explains everything we do and do not collect.

Who can read my AI conversations?

Your conversations are stored on your phone. To generate answers they are sent to our AI provider, which is not allowed to use them to train its models. Our team does not read them unless you share one with us in a support request.

How do I get a copy of my data?

Email ata@pragmaticdevs.io from the address linked to your account and we will send you a copy within one month.

Your wellbeing

Calmfly is not helping enough. What else can I do?

Fear of flying responds well to professional help, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or a specialist fear of flying course. Calmfly works well alongside these, but it is not a replacement. If your fear stops you from travelling or affects your daily life, consider speaking to a psychologist or your doctor.

I am having a panic attack right now.

Open Calmfly and tap Calm mode for guided breathing. Breathe out slowly, longer than you breathe in. If you are on a plane, let the cabin crew know how you feel. They are trained to help and it is completely normal to ask. If you feel unsafe, call your local emergency number.

Send us a message

A real person reads every message. We usually reply within two business days.

Calmfly support is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, call your local emergency number.
